THROUGH THE BURN
a production of
THIKWA THEATER BERLIN
"Six mixed-able performers dive into a world full of excitement, which is simply anxiety with a positive spin on it, and a whole spectrum of experiences on offer.
We're happiest when we keep it real. We face life as it is, no matter how challenging or uncomfortable it may feel. Eyes wide open and letting everything in, experiencing everything that life has to offer. 'We' are ironic, cynical at a time, passionate, we laugh until belly aches and we scream and cry for anger. In this way of living life there's no spacefor hypocrisy. We have no interest to pretend and no time for superficial talks and connections. Every person that comes into my life is radically transported into this way of living, at least the connection with me. For the Tanzabend 5, I've been proposed to create a piece on the concept of GLÜCK. In times of political upheaval, emotional hardship or social isolation, where do we find a validation for happiness and fulfilment? I couldn't answer to this question, therefore I decided to develop a piece on this concept:Through the burn is a positive existential take. Short but intense and wants to unlock dialogues. When's the last you've felt truly happy?
Were you expecting a happy piece? Expectations are delusional. So strap in, buckle up and let's go for a ride!...and don't forget, it's just an illusion." - Luana Rossetti
